Rygar: The Legendary Adventure
There’s something creepy but kind of funny about a bad voice actor whose every line is repeated in a way that makes her sound a little more like the god she’s supposed to be playing. This is part of the beginning of Rygar: The Legendary Adventure, an action game for the PS2 that takes place in a fantasy world with Roman and Greek influences where Titans come and take Princess Harmonia.
Style-wise, Rygar’s Hero was very simple, and the “heroic” voice used throughout was overly simple. The Princess, on the other hand, had some very bad voice acting, and the Goddess who helps Rygar in the beginning sets the tone for some of the worst voice acting of the whole movie.
Shining Force EXA
Shining Force EXA came out late for the PS2 and is one of a line of RPGs where angels and demons fight each other. This game used many of the same fight and non-battle mechanics as the last game in the series, Shining Force NEO. Aside from the voice acting, the game had problems like a slow frame rate. And lag when a lot of baddies were on the screen at once. And it was a bit too long. But the sounds were by far the worst part.
Toma, the main male character in the game, and other characters were hard to listen to, especially for so long. Even minor figures like Maebelle and Gadfort came across as annoyingly simple in their portrayals. The voices didn’t sound like they tried very hard. At times, it was very annoying, and at other times, it was just funny.
Grandia III
Grandia III, a role-playing game for the PS2, came out in 2005 and was the third game in the Square Enix series. The game takes place in a world where magic runs the planes that people fly. It follows a teenager who wants to become a pilot as he gets involved with dangerous beings and falls in love.
Grandia III was a good game with a fun story and gameplay that was similar to what came before. But the voice acting made it hard to take the game seriously. Everything about the movie, from the main characters to the supporting ones, was completely silly. The cheesy triumphant music didn’t help, and fans still remember this movie as a very special one in the series.
Chaos Wars
Chaos Wars is a PS2 game that people remember most for the voice acting and nothing else. This tactical RPG was supposed to be a big success. It was a crossover between games like Shadow Hearts, Growlanser, Blazing Souls, and more. Instead, it has become a cult favorite because of the hilariously bad English voice acting. Which was done in part by the CEO’s children.
It is nothing less than funny. Uru and Karen’s lines sound more like they were read by a high school drama class than like they were played out. Chaos Wars is one of the few games that has become well-known for something like this. When players hear the voices in this game for the first time, they will probably laugh.
The Sniper 2
The Sniper 2 is a game for the PS2 that is known for being one of the worst games ever made, but it’s still a lot of fun. Most parts of the game are so horrifying that it’s okay to laugh at them. In fact, the game is usually fun because of how bad it is.
There are a number of cutscenes in The Sniper 2 with characters whose writing isn’t very good. But whose voice acting is especially bad. By the time players get to shoot at enemies, most of them will be shocked by how bad Basket Random game is. The Sniper 2 is a lost classic that is so bad it’s good. If you want to have a good laugh, you should watch it.
Robot Alchemic Drive
There aren’t many games where the bad voice acting seems so sad that it almost has to be done on purpose. In Robot Alchemic Drive, a young person must fight against the Volgara, which are machines that look like people. Even though it got good reviews when it came out. No English remake of a game has ever been more embarrassing.
From talking too long about bread and soup to making the worst death screams ever. All of the voice acting seems to be done on purpose to be bad. It’s funny enough to make you want to check it out and play the whole gam. While being shocked by the acting and trying to figure out how it could have been released.
