Classic Character Cameos: Missing In Action
Sonic Superstars is expected to have a lot of familiar names from previous games. This story includes the blue hedgehog himself. Tails, Knuckles, and Amy are, of course, not too far behind. But now that Fang the Sniper’s return has been confirmed, several other old figures could get a second chance to shine.
Bean the Dynamite and Bark the Polar Bear are easy picks because they were paired with Fang in Sonic Mania. Honey the Cat from Sonic the Fighters could also be a fun choice to make a surprise appearance. There are so many great characters in the Sonic stories that it would be fun to see more of them.
Boss Rush Mode: Smashing Robots At The Speed of Sound
If there is one thing that Sonic is known for, it is his speed. A boss rush mode would be a great way to put this to the test. With online leaderboards or four-player co-op, letting people fight for the fastest times or work together could make for hours of fun.
Eggman is known for making robots that are so different and unique that each round is likely to be different. Since each of our four possible characters has different skills, each time through the boss rush would be exciting.
Character Skins: Looking Sharp
Over the course of the series, the Sonic characters have had many different looks. From Sonic Adventure’s new styles to the different clothes the characters have worn, Sonic is used to being changed. Sonic Superstars could build on this by giving the four possible characters different outfits and skins.
Tails could get a pair of goggles to remind people of how he looked in Sonic Riders, and Knuckles could get his classic western hat. Sonic could get a standard version of the soap shoes from Sonic Adventure 2, and Amy could wear any of the clothes she’s worn over the years.
New Special Zones: Hunting For The Emeralds
In the Sonic games, the special zones are like extra stages. You can get extra lives from finishing them. But more often than not, you can get a chaos emerald from them.
In the past, classic Sonic games have had special stages from Sonic 1, 2, and 3. Sonic Superstars could try to make a new experience by having its own style. If you are trying to get the seven chaos emeralds. You can do this by going through special stages that give you a unique task.
Online Co-op: Connecting Across The World
Local multiplayer will be a part of Sonic Superstars. So up to four friends can go on a trip through Northstar Island to stop Dr. Eggman. This is sure to make things crazy and interesting in this game. Since we live in the age of the internet. I think it would be a mistake not to include online play.
If players could play Drive Mad game together no matter where they were, Sonic Superstars would become a classic. Online servers need to be secure, of course, so that players can have the best time playing.
Since Sonic 2, the blue blur has been able to turn into Super Sonic by using the power of the seven chaotic emeralds. In Sonic 3, his best friend Tails and his foe Knuckles would get skills like his. But Super Tails and Super Knuckles haven’t been seen since then, except in Sonic Mania.
Since Sonic Superstars has the original characters back, this is a great time to bring back Tails’ and Knuckles’ super forms and give Amy a new one. She has been a part of the group for a long time, and if she got this power, the group would be complete.
Minigames: Fun Among Friends
Even though Sonic Superstars will have four-player co-op, which will give you hours of fun. More minigames could give you a change of pace. Sonic games have always had side modes that give you something to do besides the main story.
You could try to avoid obstacles as you race down an endless stage, or you could try to get the most rings in these minigames. No matter what Sega decides to add, a few good minigames would make Sonic Superstars more fun to play again and again.
Additional Playable Characters: Join Team Sonic
With Tails, Knuckles, and Amy Rose along, it looks like Sonic will have a lot of help on this adventure. But it’s hard not to wonder what other heroes might join these four on their quest. Mighty the Armadillo and Ray the Flying Squirrel would be two good choices.
Mighty’s meteor drop move and Ray’s ability to glide could give the group even more variety. Metal Sonic could be another interesting choice. Sonic’s robot copy has a lot of moves that will make him stand out if he joins Sonic Superstars. His Black Shield and hyper-speed dash are just two of them.
