Don’t Sell Cooked Dishes
You start out with a simple kitchen and the choice of cooking on your own or following a plan. You can find new recipes as you improve your house and look around Forgotten Valley.
But cooking isn’t a very good way to make money, especially early in the game. Most cooked meals don’t sell for much more than the cost of the ingredients alone. So, if you have too many items, you can sell them, but don’t think that pickling turnips will make you rich. You should eat your meals to fill up your energy meter or give liked food to people in the town.
Don’t Ignore The Archeological Dig Site
Digging at the historical site can make a lot more money than cooking. It takes time to do this task, but you can find fossils, coins, ore, and gems. Gold things and ore usually sell for the most, and Lumina and Tei like getting gems as gifts.
Over time, the place grows and you can find more treasure there. You may also find a stone tablet every year. When you leave the spot, Carter, the archeologist, will take the tablet from you and tell you about Forgotten Valley’s past.
Don’t Plant A Crop In The Off Season
Every season is ten days long. If you’ve played Story of Seasons before, you know how important it is to plant crops at the right time. Watermelon seeds, for example, will grow from spring to summer.
Many crops can grow in more than one season, so even if you put them in one season, you could still get a harvest in another. That means that if you plant watermelons in the spring and water them enough, they will produce fruit until the end of summer. But if you try to grow a crop when it’s not the right time, it will die and you’ll have to use a Sickle to get rid of it.
Don’t Buy The Seed Maker
You can buy the Seed Maker for 30,000 G, but you can also get one for free. To start the Seed Maker story, you must first make friends with Daryl the scientist and go to his lab when he is there. Bring Daryl a lot of fish and rocks, which he likes.
Once you have the Seed Maker, you can use it to make two seeds of the same quality from one crop. If you have a S crop, the Maker will give you two S seeds.
Don’t Leave Your Barn Animals Out In The Rain
If you ring the bell, you can let your horses out to graze. But cows, sheep, and goats don’t like to be out in the rain or snow. They can’t get sick, but if they’re left outside, they’ll make less-good goods. So, check the TV prediction and bring them inside if bad weather is coming.
On the other hand, chickens and ducks don’t mind getting wet, so you can leave them outside no matter what time of day or weather it is.
Don’t Try To Make All Your Money From Crops
Surprisingly, the best way to make money is not to sell crops. At the start of the game, seeds are expensive to buy, and planting them takes up valuable field space until you can clear the farm and unlock more fields.
Farming is still a very important part. You’ll need to grow crops and store them so you can give them as gifts to villagers, cook meals, fulfill requests, and finally breed crops. If you want to make money, go fishing or milk the cows instead of taking care of your yard.
Don’t Forget To Do Your Farm Chores Twice
Your plants can get watered twice a day. This is very important in the summer and for foods that take longer to grow. If you forget to do this too often, the crops that are more fragile will die or might not be ready to gather by the end of the season.
You can also milk your cows twice a day and collect eggs twice a day, so you should go straight from the fields to the barn and coop when you wake up and when you go to bed. Some people in the village will also take more than one gift in a day.
Don’t Give A Villager Their Disliked Item
Every villager has their likes and hates. If you want to get along better with someone, you can give them something they like. If you give them something they don’t like, it will hurt your relationship. They will talk back in a negative way and might even refuse the gift outright.
Don’t give your love interest something they hate at all costs, or they might lose interest in you. On the other hand, giving someone something they like will make their heart beat faster.
Don’t Neglect Your Livestock
Even though animals can’t get sick or die, that doesn’t mean you should leave them alone. Cows and goats make milk, which is good to drink. Sheep can be cut to get wool, and chickens and ducks lay eggs. Animal goods are a great way to make money, and you can sell them to the merchant van or the shipping bin.
Every day, you will need to feed, brush, and check on your animals. Animals will give you better products if you take good care of them. If you ignore them for too long, their health and heart levels will go down, and so will the quality of their products.
Don’t Stay Single For Too Long
Don’t put off picking a partner for life! You have one year to get to know and propose to one of eight men or bachelorettes, no matter what gender your character is.
If you haven’t been able to ask someone to marry you by the end of Year One, Backrooms game will give you a list of people who have 6 Affection hearts and 17 Friendship points. If no one meets those rules, the game is over.
In “It’s a Wonderful Life,” everything is about running a farm and making friends, so getting married and having a child are important plot points.
